Cloud Services Solutions Specialist

Summary/Objective
Installs, maintains, and services customer premises equipment. Assists Executive Account Managers in closing sales by offering technical advice to employees and customers. Is responsible for supporting the organization’s Cloud Services operations and procedures. The technician works within a team environment to support company systems, which includes installation of cabling and phones, maintenance of the Cloud Services equipment, and customer service activities. This position is responsible for networks, communications equipment, and providing support for users’ needs in regards to the Cloud Services function. Installs and maintains PBXs and other unregulated equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, installs, and performs testing activities on various computer equipment, data communication, and network systems.
  • Installs new equipment.
  • Exercises total responsibility for routine installation or modification projects
  • Assists other specialists in repairing, installing, and testing complex pieces of equipment or local area networks
  • Completes work orders such as installing equipment, connecting and moving devices, or creating components of autonomous networks.
  • Uses computer-aided diagnostics and digital logic devices as needed to locate malfunctions.
  • Calibrates equipment for proper operation.
  • Develops and maintains software and hardware inventory and tracking systems
  • Develops inventory lists and orders, stocks, and stores needed inventory.
  • Installs Cloud Services phone system. Performs other changes for phone uses.
  • Sets up calling features such as automatic call distribution (ACD) groups, pick groups, call processing and voice mail.
  • Provides phone support and training to new users and solves miscellaneous related problems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance for Cloud Services system and equipment; tests and adjusts to appropriate standards.
  • Assist sales team in assessing technical needs of customers and in closing sales.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This position operates in an environment that may contain dust, noise, oil and grease, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane, and solvents. This role also uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation. This job also requires the use of machines and hand tools necessary for equipment installation and repair. This position requires occasional heavy lifting.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel
Up to 25% travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior exposure to computer systems or operations

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Vocational certificate in related field
  • Prior telecommunications experience
