Oskaloosa, KS — A new era of connectivity is coming to Oskaloosa. Giant Communications has announced plans to build a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network throughout the community, bringing fiber connectivity directly to homes and businesses.
The project represents a significant investment in Oskaloosa and will provide residents and businesses with access to a network built to meet both today’s connectivity needs and tomorrow’s demands.
Unlike technologies that rely on older infrastructure for part of the connection, FTTP delivers fiber directly to the customer’s location. The result is a network designed for speed, reliability and the growing number of connected devices used for work, school, entertainment, communication and everyday life.
“Investing in fiber is an investment in the long-term strength of the communities we serve,” said Austin Taylor, General Manager at Giant Communications. “We’re excited to expand our network in Oskaloosa and give residents and businesses access to technology that can grow right alongside their needs. Just as importantly, they’ll have the local service and support that Giant Communications is known for.”
Construction will take place in phases, with Giant Communications sharing updates with the community as work progresses. Residents can expect additional information about construction activity, service availability and opportunities to sign up as fiber reaches their area.
Once complete, the new network will give Oskaloosa a strong broadband foundation capable of supporting increasingly connected homes and businesses for years to come.
